Indra is the king of the devas in Hinduism according to vedas he is main deity

Vedas: Many people will be surprised to know that Lord Indra has been given a prominent place in the Vedas (the main scriptures of Hindus). There are more than 250 mantras in Rigveda. But there is nothing surprising in this. It is mentioned in many Puranas that Indra is a title and not a particular person. Sometimes Nahusha occupies the position of Indra and sometimes Shatkrato. The Vedas want us to learn that there is only one God and the same God is known by different names.

This Devana Namdha is one and the same. (Rigveda 10.82.3 / Shukla Yajurveda 17.27)

Or

Yatra Deva: Samagacchanta Vishwe. (Rigveda 10.82.6)
“The same God bears many names of the gods and in the same one Parabrahma, all the gods become congruent with their soul.”

Therefore, even in Shukla-Yajurveda Samhita, only one Indra-God is omnipotent and all the gods are one-Indra form only. It is clearly described as follows-

Agnischa m Indrascha me Somashcha m Indrascha me Savita cha ma Indrascha me Saraswati cha ma Indrascha me Pusha cha ma Indrascha me Brihaspatischma m Indrascha me Yajna Kalpantam.
Mitrascha m Indrascha me Varunashcha m Indrascha me Dhaata cha ma Indrascha me Tvashta cha ma Indrascha me Marutashcha m Indrascha me Vishwe cha me Deva Indrascha me Yajnana Kalpantam.
Prithivi cha ma Indrascha meintariksham cha ma Indrascha me Dyauscha ma Indrascha me Samascha ma Indrascha me Nakshatrani cham Indrascha me Dishashcha ma Indrascha me Yajna Kalpantam.
(Shukla Yajurveda 18.16–18)

“Agni is also Indra, Som is also Indra, Savita is also Indra, Saraswati is also Indra, Pusha is also Indra, Brihaspati is also through us, we keep pronouncing with devotion. Indra is the form of God, Agni etc., Mitra is also Indra, Dhaata is also Indra, Marut is also Indra, Vishvedev is also Indra. May all of them be pleased with us through Indra’s Yagya. The earth is also Indra, the sky is also Indra, the presiding deity of the Samavatsara is also Indra, the stars are also Indra; May all those gods other than Indra be my protectors through yagya.”

All the gods are special forms of the power and glory of that one God Indra. Therefore they cannot be separated from Him in reality. Therefore, in this Dev community, Indrapad has been used along with every word like Agni etc. to render Indratva having the characteristics of omnipotence-Brahmatva and “Tadbhinnabhinnasya tadbhinnatvam” By this Nyaya i.e. just as Sharava, who is inseparable from clay, becomes inseparable from Ghat, in the same way, Indra, who is inseparable from Agni, and Som, who is inseparable from God, also becomes inseparable from Agni – By this Nyaya, there is a mutual difference between the gods like Agni, Soma etc. The absence of God is revealed and the uniqueness of Indra-God is proved, which is a special adjective of devotion.
